# 6.3 - Corporal Duties and Responsibilities

* &#x20;**A Corporal is a Supervisor in Training, and though they may perform supervisory functions it is recommended they patrol with a Sergeant or above.**<br>
* **Corporals shall be appointed FTA upon promotion to Corporal, and may be promoted to FTO status pending satisfactory completion of their FTO training.**<br>
* **Corporals are REQUIRED to do an Eval Ride Along Prior to becoming Supervisors.**<br>
* **Corporals shall demonstrate proficiency and in depth knowledge of LSPD SOP and guidelines Corporals may report individuals for misconduct or improper behavior whilst on duty to Sergeants**
