3.1 - Duties and Responsibilities of the Chief of Police

  • The Primary responsibility of the Chief of Police shall be with ensuring productivity and practicality in all facets regarding the Los Santos Police Department. The Chief of LSPD and his Office shall be responsible to the server administration for the functionality of the Los Santos Police Department as a whole and will ensure quality oversight is accomplished through their office.

  • The Chief of Police, with assistance from the Assistant Chief and Deputy Chief, shall ensure all documents and publications are managed, formatted and edited appropriately and will have the final decision on changes presented for the Los Santos Police Department as a whole. Before any changes are made to LSPD documents The Office of the Chief must convene and vote on any proposed changes

  • The Chief of Police shall be responsible to participate in promotion panels for members of the department, and ensure all policies and procedures regarding promotions are being followed by the panel.

  • The Chief of Police shall have the ability to propose demotion in accordance with the guidelines of the LSPD SOP, suspend members from duty for a time not to exceed 30 days, remove members from patrol, and issue strikes within the department.

  • The Chief of Police shall be an FTO-A and is expected to be a subject matter expert in all matters pertaining to the FTO SOP and policies.
