3.2 - Duties and Responsibilities of the Assistant Chief of Police
The primary responsibility of the Assistant Chief shall be to assist the Chief of police in performance of their duties and perform duties assigned by the Chief of Police not listed in this document.
The Assistant Chief shall be responsible to have oversight and thorough knowledge of all subdivisions and their respective SOP’s, and ensure practicality and productivity within each are accomplished. The Assistant Chief shall have the ability to revoke a subdivision if the subdivision does not serve as value added to roleplay or is not activated often enough to justify its existence. Prior to revoking this subdivision, proper documentation and physical tangible evidence shall be provided prior to proposing the removal of the subdivision to the Chief of Police.
The Assistant Chief and Deputy Chief shall both be responsible to assist the Chief with ensuring documents are managed, formatted and edited appropriately and will have a vote in the final decision on changes presented to the Los Santos Police Department as a whole.
The Assistant Chief shall be responsible to participate in promotion panels for members of the department, and ensure all policies and procedures regarding promotions are being followed by the panel.
The Assistant Chief shall have the ability to propose demotion in accordance with the guidelines of the LSPD SOP, suspend members from duty for a time not to exceed 30 days, remove members from patrol, and issue strikes within the department.
The assistant Chief will perform the duties of the Chief of Police in an extended absence or vacancy of the Chief and will be required to be an FTO-A
The Assistant Chief serves at the pleasure of The Chief Of Police.
